Arlington Police Officers Assaulted in 2 Separate Weekend Incidents
A woman spit in the face of one officer and the other kicked a medic in the face, police say.

Two women are in jail on charges of assaulting a police officer in Arlington County over the weekend.
The first incident happened in the 2100 block of S. Washington Boulevard near Lyon Park at around 3:39 p.m. on June 24, according to the police report. Police say they were responding to a report of an assault, and when they got to the scene, 35-year-old Senait Taye of Arlington ignored orders to comply and instead spit in the officer's face.
Taye is charged with assault on police and assault and battery.

The second incident happened at around 12:37 a.m. on June 26 in the 3100 block of Wilson Boulevard, which is in the vicinity of the Clarendon Metro station. Police were called to assist medics who were dealing with a "heavily intoxicated" woman.
"Upon arrival, the suspect became combative towards officers and medics," the report states. "She was able to get her legs free and kick an officer to the ground and a medic in the face."

Police arrested 21-year-old Clara Sigman of Fredericksburg on charges of assault on police, assault on firefighters and drunk in public.
