Arlington Police Respond To Report Of Gunshots, Find Injured Man

A man was injured Tuesday night when three men came into his Arlington apartment, assaulted him and stole a gun before fleeing the area.

ARLINGTON, VA — A man was injured Tuesday night when three men came into his apartment, assaulted him and stole a firearm before fleeing the area, according to the Arlington County Police Department.

Shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to a report of gunshots in an apartment building in the 200 block of N. Wayne Street near Route 50 across from Fort Myer.

Officers found the victim who had sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries but declined treatment from medics, police said. Police determined the victim was inside his residence when about three male suspects entered, physically assaulted him and stole his personal belongings, including a firearm.

In their investigation, officers recovered evidence of a firearm being discharged and located property damage to the floor of the apartment. Police said they do not have descriptions of the three suspects.
