Arlington Public Schools Makes Weather Call For Jan. 4

Arlington Public Schools again will make weather-related cancelations on Tuesday, Jan. 4.

ARLINGTON, VA — For the second day in a row, Arlington Public Schools will be delaying a return to school following winter break. All county schools and offices will be closed on Tuesday, according to an alert on the APS website.

APS students were supposed to return to school after the holidays on Monday, but a winter storm passed through the Washington, D.C. metro area during morning rush hour. Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport reported an accumulation of 6.7 inches of snow once the storm was over.

In anticipation of the storm, APS canceled classes for Monday the night before. With the area still digging out, APS announced that classes will be canceled and school offices will be closed for another day. The cancelation extends to all activities and programs scheduled to take place on school grounds.
