Arlington Restaurant In Hot Water Again: Report

The owner of Darna, which made national headlines after playing a role in an incident involving the Kardashians, is in legal trouble.

ARLINGTON, VA -- The owner of Darna Restaurant and Lounge reportedly is now facing criminal charges, the latest in a series of problems for the restaurant that has been in the national news lately for an incident involving the Kardashians.

The Virginia Square restaurant -- where video surfaced of NBA star Tristan Thompson allegedly cheating on his girlfriend Khloe Kardashian earlier this year -- had been briefly shut down at one point this year due to numerous health and safety code violations.

Darna fixed those problems so it could reopen, but now prosecutors have charged owner Amhad Ayyad and his company with a count of performing work without proper permits, which is a misdemeanor, according to an ARLnow.com report. Ayyad apparently had not gotten a building permit for some modifications to the property, according to a Arlington County Board staff report.

ARLnow reports that the Board still plans to let Darna stay open while Ayyad fixes the issues.
