Arlington Snowfall 2017: How Much We Got, And What's Next
Snowfall totals ended up being a little underwhelming, and considering the abrupt temperature change upcoming, it won't stick around long.
ARLINGTON, VA — As is almost always the case in this region, the snowfall forecasts ended up overshooting reality. So as we dig ourselves out of what is undoubtedly the last snowstorm of the season, how much snow did everyone get, and what does the immediate future hold for Arlington?
In the end, Arlington got less than two inches of snow: 1.7 inches were recorded at Reagan National Airport, to be exact, according to the National Weather Service. The snowfall totals were last recorded at 11 a.m. Tuesday morning.
It appears the snowstorm merely grazed the D.C. area while pounding points north. You didn't have to go far to see dramatically different snowfall totals. Up the road in Maryland, Frederick received 10 inches of snow, or more than five times what Arlington got.

So what's next for Arlington? Expect a rapid return to spring-like temperatures this weekend, although we won't be completely rid of the cold for the remainder of this month. Weather.com predicts that temperatures will rise to near 60 degrees on Saturday after hovering in the 30s and 40s for the rest of the work week. Temperatures will dip back down into the 40s here and there over the next 15 days, but should stay in the 50s for much of March.
