Arlington Whole Foods Gets Brand New Sports Drink

'Honest Tea' unveiled a new line of sports drinks at the new Pentagon City store.

Bethesda-based organic drink company "Honest Tea" is unveiling a new line of sport drinks, and the company launched them at the new Whole Foods Market in Pentagon City this week.

"Honest Tea is piloting Honest Sport, a new line of organic sports drinks, beginning on June 29th with a single store test at the new Pentagon City Whole Foods Market," the company said in a statement. "Sweetened with organic, Fair Trade Certified sugar and fruit juice, Honest Sport will be available in three varieties: Lemon, Orange, and Berry. Each 16.9 fl. oz. bottle of Honest Sport is 100 calories, and like all Honest products, is certified organic."

The company described it as a "natural" expansion for Honest Tea, which produces a line of organic bottled ice tea as well as Honest Kids and Honest Fizz drinks.

Organic Honest Sport was created with a formula based on American College of Sports Medicines guidelines, and is designed to "refresh refuel and rehydrate athletes after rigorous activity," the statement adds.

Honest Sport will expand beyond the Pentagon City Whole Foods to other locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region during 2016.

The price of a 16.9 fl. oz. bottle will be $1.99.
