Arlington Woman Faces 2 Malicious Wounding Charges: Police

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police arrested an Arlington woman early Thursday morning in connection with a stabbing incident in High View Park, according to the daily crime report.

Police were dispatched around 3:15 a.m., for the report of a stabbing in the 1900 block of N. Edison Street. They found two victims outside a residence and immediately began administering aid. Both victims were taken to an area hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation revealed the victims were returning home when they were approached by a known suspect from behind, who began pulling on one of the victim's backpack. When they turned around, the suspect stabbed both victims with a knife, before fleeing the scene with the victim's backpack, according to police.

After canvassing the area, officers apprehended the suspect in the area of Washington Boulevard and N. Stafford Street.

ACPD arrested Zulma Franco Lopez, 23, of Arlington and charged her with two counts of malicious wounding. She is being without bond.
