Arlington Woman, 30, Visiting Relatives Is Killed In Augusta County House Fire
A 30-year-old Arlington woman visiting relatives in Augusta County was killed Sunday in an early morning house fire.
AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA — An Arlington woman who was visiting relatives in Augusta County died in a house fire Sunday morning, according to a release from the Virginia State Police.
Firefighters responded around 8:42 .m. for the report of a fire at a home in the 300 block of Deerfield Valley Road. Arriving on the scene, they found the house engulfed in flames, according to the release.
The remains of 30-year-old Jacqueline Guerrier of Arlington were taken to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Roanoke, where an examination and autopsy will take place.

An adult man was flown to VCU Medical Center in Richmond to be treated for life-threatening injuries.
The Appomattox Field Office of VSP's Bureau of Criminal Investigation are looking into the cause of the fire. At this time, the fire does not appear to be suspicious. Investigators are working to identify the cause and origin of the fire.
