Arlington-Based Defense Contractor Accused of Inflating Hours
Case was transferred to federal court in Alexandria.

A former employee of Arlington-based DRS Technologies says company officials told employees to artificially inflate their hours to increase billing for a U.S. Army contract, the Washington Business Journals reports.
The case has been transferred to the U.S. District Court in Alexandria, where it sat for about two years before the federal government reportedly declined to intervene.

“Elder is accusing DRS of firing him in retaliation for objecting to alleged fraud when he claimed the company instructed employees to charge the government 12-hour labor hours daily, regardless of the actual times worked under an Army contract,” according to the Washington Business Journal.
DRS Technologies is an international company in the defense technology field. According to its website, the company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Finmeccanica SpA (FNC.MI). Finmeccanica has approximately 70,000 employees across the globe.
