Head to the IOTA Club & Cafe Thursday night to hear Sidewalk Chalk, an eight-piece jazz/hip hop band from Chicago.
They'll be celebrating and performing from their just-released sophomore album, "Leaves."
Some say the band is comparable to The Roots, but have their own unique style — jazzier, with a female vocalist. Bonus: Sidewalk Chalk features a tapdancer on percussion.
The Chicago Reader said they were the best hip hop band of 2010.
The IOTA Club & Cafe is located at 2832 Wilson Blvd. in Arlington. Tickets are $12 and must be purchased at the club, just before the show starts. Sidewalk Chalk is scheduled to begin performing Thursday at 8:30 p.m. For more information, call the club at (703) 522-8340.
