Armed Carjacking In Crystal City Under Investigation: Report

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police are investigating an armed carjacking that took place Tuesday afternoon in Crystal City, according to the daily crime report.

Around 1:37 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Crystal Drive for the report of an armed robbery. Arriving on the scene, they determined the victim was inside his vehicle when two men approached him. The first man displayed a knife and the second produced a firearm, before forcing the victim out of his vehicle. After threatening the victim, the two men fled the scene in the victim's vehicle, traveling northbound on Richmond Highway.

ACPD described the vehicle as a 2013 BMW X3 with Virginia tags. The victim was not injured.

The investigation is ongoing.
