ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place outside a Westmont business early Wednesday morning, according to the daily crime report.

Around 1:24 a.m., the victim flagged down an officer in the 3000 block of Columbia Pike and reported that he had just been robbed. An investigation revealed that the victim had left a business when two men approached him. One of the men struck the victim with what appeared to be a firearm, causing the victim to fall to the ground. The two men searched the victim and fled the scene without stealing anything. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

During a follow-up investigation at the business, officers discovered about 10 minutes before police arrived two men had brandished firearms and threatened another victim. The second victim tried to stop the men from entering the business again, but they pushed past him and began rummaging through items. Nothing was reported stolen. The second victim had suffered minor injuries, which did not require medical treatment.
