Art Show Highlighting Works by Students to Benefit Special Education

Fundraiser set for Thursday, Oct. 23 at Artisphere in Rosslyn.

A special fundraiser to help area special needs children and families is set for Thursday, Oct. 23 at Rosslyn’s Artisphere.

Fairfax-based PHILLIPS Programs for Children and Families, a local nonprofit helping youth with a variety of challenges and qualities succeed, is hosting its second annual Toast to Fall on Oct. 23 from 6-9:30 p.m. at the Artisphere in Rosslyn. An event highlight is the art show and sale that showcases and celebrates PHILLIPS students’ art work as well as local juried artists. The fundraiser also features live music, craft beers, wine, food and a raffle.

WHY: PHILLIPS is a unique nonprofit that works throughout the region to ensure that youth with a variety of challenges and strengths and their families benefit from education, family support services, community education and advocacy. For 45 years, PHILLIPS has helped youth succeed by providing customized support and education through three programs, including: Special Education Day Schools in Annandale, VA and Laurel, MD; PHILLIPS Family Partners offering home- and community-based counseling and support; and PHILLIPS Building Futures, an onsite youth training program in Fairfax and Loudoun counties.
