Assault, Robbery Charges Filed Again Man In Barcroft Area: Police

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police charged a man in connection with an assault and robbery Thursday night in the Barcroft area, according to the daily crime report.

Officers responded around 9:05 p.m. to the area of Columbia Pike and South George Mason Drive for the report of a robbery. Police found the victim sitting on a bench in the area. He told the officers that a man he knew had taken his wallet. As the man began to walk away, the victim told police he confronted him and they starting fighting. During the scuffle, the suspect hit the victim in the head and ran away with the wallet.

Police broadcast a lookout for the suspect, who was located in the Columbia Pike and South Taylor Street area. During their investigation, police determined the suspect had also entered an open garage and stolen a bicycle.

Police charged 46-year-old Jimmy Almendarez-Galeas of no fixed address with petit larceny, assault & battery, burglary and grand larceny.
