ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police are seeking a suspect in connection with a sexual assault that took place Saturday afternoon near Ballston, according to the daily crime report.

Officers were dispatched at 3:59 p.m. to Wilson Boulevard at N. Pollard Street for the report of an assault. A preliminary investigation revealed that about 10 to 15 minutes earlier, a man approached the victim from behind as she was walking in the area. He began to chase the victim when she started walking in the opposite direction. The suspect then smacked the victim on her buttocks and fled the area on foot, police said.

Police describe the suspect as a black man in his mid-30s. He had a slim build, stood 5-foot-8, was clean-shaven and had almost a buzzed haircut. He was wearing a brown T-shirt and eyeglasses. This case remains under investigation.
