Ballston Improvement District to Hold Annual Meeting Next Week
The BID's CEO, Tina Leone, will discuss the BID's successes throughout the year and outline ongoing strategies.

The Ballston Business Improvement District (BID) hosts its fourth Annual Meeting on Tuesday, June 16 at 5:30 p.m. The event will be held at the Westin Arlington Gateway Hotel, where the president of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Timothy Sands, will be the keynote speaker to sharing his plans for Virginia Tech Research Center in Ballston. The BID’s CEO, Tina Leone, will discuss the BID’s successes throughout the year and outline ongoing strategies.
“The Ballston BID is dedicated to maintaining and enhancing Ballston’s reputation as a center for innovation, imagination and opportunity,” said Leone, CEO of the BID. “We strive to showcase Ballston as the connected, progressive neighborhood that it is, and our plans for the upcoming year reflect the impressive nature of our community.”
During the last 12 months, the BID has remained dedicated to the themes of innovation and creativity in order to elevate Ballston’s brand. Below are highlights of some of the BID’s initiatives:

- Taste of Arlington – Hosted over 40,000 people to Ballston and donated $16,000 to the Arlington Food Assistance Center
- Art Installations – Unveiled eight “Public Displays of Innovation” throughout the Ballston neighborhoods.
- Restaurant Challenge –Completed a competition to showcase Ballston as a restaurant destination
Leone will reveal the BID’s strategic goals for the year ahead and provide information regarding the areas in which the BID plans to focus its attention and efforts.
