Ballston Pizza Restaurant Shortens Name To Avoid Confusing Customers

BALLSTON, VA — It's like Prince or Twitter. The Ballston eatery formerly known as "Turu's By Timber Pizza Company" will now be known as "Timber Pizza Co."

"We’ve loved working in Arlington and building a community of fans in Northern VA," CEO Luke Watson said in an email to Patch. "BUT, we’ve also realized because of the name, people are confused around what and who Turu’s is! To eliminate the confusion, Turu’s is now simply: Timber Pizza Co. — Ballston."

Since opening its doors in 2019, Timer set out to Ballston's go-to spot for wood-fired pizza made with inventive flavors and good vibes, according to marketing coordinator Emily Compton.

"We add some flair to our pizzas with toppings like spicy honey, Peruvian sweet peppers, cured chorizo, and kale," she said. "Not only can you get your fresh Timber pizza within minutes at Ballston Quarter, but you'll find us vending or catering around the neighborhood. Chances are you know someone who has been to an event or wedding catered by Timber."

The restaurant offers full-service catering for up to 300 people onsite. Guests can enjoy fresh pies out of the brick oven. Bar service is also available.

"We love operating in Ballston Quarter, because it’s a hub for people from all walks of life," Compton said. "We've built a Timber Fam here because of our relationships with families, students, local businesses, professionals, and everyone in between that call Ballston home. We couldn't do it without the amazing community."
