Ballston Business Improvement District is launching the first BallstonMOVES Fitness Week to highlight the area's thriving fitness scene.
ARLINGTON, VA — Hey, Ballston, get off your behind and get moving. The Ballston Business Improvement District (BID) is launching its first ever BallstonMOVES Fitness Week, Aug. 1-9. The event aims to highlight the area's thriving fitness scene.
Runners World recently named Arlington the fittest city in the U.S. for the third year in a row. The city — which is really a county — boasts a great number of popular gyms and boutique fitness studios, many of which can be found in Ballston. In fact, the neighborhood boasts more than a dozen world-class fitnesses studios within a five-block radius.
Businesses taking in part in BallstonMOVES include Ballston CrossFit, BASH Boxing, F45 Training, Gold’s Gym, One Life Fitness, Praxi Pilates, Studio Body Logic, and VIDA Fitness. Each studio will offer special discounts and other incentives during fitness week.

Many of these studios had to close their doors in March due to Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam's stay-at-home order. Arlingtonians are encouraged to support these local business and get back in shape at the same time.
“The health and well-being of the community is the Ballston BID’s highest priority,” said Tina Leone, CEO, Ballston BID. “Many gyms are currently offering virtual class options, and all are ensuring proper distancing through reduced class sizes, in addition to maintaining enhanced hygiene practices for in-person classes and visits.”
