ARLINGTON, VA -- A burglar broke into a business in broad daylight, stole items of value, and then jumped into a nearby taxi to make his getaway, police say.

Police were called to the 3100 block of Columbia Pike at around 10:23 a.m. on July 8 to a report of a larceny, according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.

"Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim remotely observed a male suspect force entry to their business and steal items of value," the report states. "After exiting the business, the suspect located a taxi and fled the area. During the course of the investigation, police were able to determine the identity of the driver of the taxi and make contact with him.
