ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police are investigating whether a juvenile suspect arrested in connection with the burglary of a Dominion Hill business on Saturday morning was also involved with a recent series of overnight commercial burglaries in the county, according to a police release.

Around 3:13 a.m., on Saturday, officers were conducting extra checks on businesses in the Dominion Hills neighborhood, after they received a report of a business being burglarized in a nearby jurisdiction. When they entered the 6000 block of Wilson Blvd., they noticed a vehicle, which was later identified as having been stolen, parked in front of a business with the its front car doors open. They also discovered a front window of the business had been broken out.

After the officers observed three individuals exiting the business through the broken window with stolen merchandise and a cash register, they gave lawful commands for the trio to stop. The three then dropped what they were carrying and ran off.

With the help of the Fairfax County Police Department's helicopter, Arlington police began searching the area. One officer spotted someone matching the description of one of the suspects running across Route 50 around 3:42 a.m. The helicopter spotted the suspect in the 6100 block of Brook Drive, where Arlington and Fairfax County officers took him into custody. Police were unable to locate the other suspects. This case remains an open investigation.

For Saturday's incident at the business in the Dominion Hills area, the juvenile suspect faces charges of burglary, possession of stolen auto, two counts of conspiracy to commit felonies, felony destruction of property, possession of stolen property, petit larceny, and underage possession of tobacco.
