On Sunday, August 16, at 3:00 p.m., Cherrydale United Methodist Church (CUMC) presents Ravita Jazz, the ensemble led by versatile Mid-Atlantic bassist, composer, and educator Dr. Philip Ravita, known for albums like Oriana (2023) and Alice Blue (2025).
Their music blends straight-ahead jazz, funk, and bop with socially conscious themes, earning them acclaim for performances at regional festivals and radio play for chart-topping tracks. The group offers themed shows, from music of legends like Ella Fitzgerald to songs of freedom.
Come listen to Ravita's rich bass work and innovative musical arrangements performed by Deirdre Jennings (Vocals), Mark Leppo (Drums), Phil Ravita (Bass) and Dan Ross (Piano).
