Car Overturns At Spout Run Parkway Entrance In Arlington: Report

Police were at the scene of an overturned car on Spout Run Parkway in Arlington on Monday afternoon, according to reports.

ARLINGTON, VA — Police were at the scene of an overturned car near the entrance to Spout Run Parkway in Arlington Monday afternoon, according to reports.

The people in the car were suspects in the robbery of an optical store in Georgetown on Wisconsin Avenue, reporter Alan Henney tweeted Monday afternoon. The people then fled in a stolen car in D.C. and crossed into Arlington as they were chased by D.C. police, Henney said.

The crash occurred shortly after 3 p.m.

Several robberies of optical stores have occurred in the D.C. area over the last few months, ARLnow reported Monday.

Two people in the crashed car are in police custody. An Arlington police K-9 unit went to the scene, initially to search for a person still believed to be on the run, according to ARLnow.
