Carjacking In Crystal City, Grand Theft Auto Investigated: Police
Arlington County Police are investigating two recent vehicle-related crimes, including a carjacking in Crystal City.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police are investigating two recent vehicle-related crimes, according to the daily crime report. The first is an attempted grand larceny offense that took place Monday evening in Pentagon City, and the other is a carjacking that occurred early Wednesday morning in Crystal City.
In the first case, officers were dispatched around 6:40 p.m., to the 900 block of 15th Street S., for the report of an attempted grand larceny auto. Arriving on the scene, they learned that two unknown men entered an unoccupied, running vehicle. The victim saw this and opened the vehicle's door. A brief struggle ensued and the suspects stole the victim's cellphone, before fleeing the scene in a silver Mercedes SUV driven by a third suspect.
ACPD describe the first suspect as a Black man in his 20s, wearing a red hat, white tank top, and red sweatpants. The second suspect is described as a Black man in his 20s, who was shirtless and wearing camouflage pants.

In the second case, officers were dispatched around 3:33 am., for the report of a carjacking in the 1400 block of Crystal Drive. The victim told officers he had been sleeping in his rental vehicle in a Crystal City garage when two men woke him and brandished firearms. While the first suspect grabbed the victim's shirt and demanded money, the second suspect rummaged through the contents of the vehicle. The two men stole the victim's wallet and other items of value from his person. They then fled the scene in the victim's vehicle.

Police describe the first suspect as a Black man, between 20-30 years of age, heavily tattooed, with black dreads. He stood about 5-foot-10, weighed 180 pounds, and was wearing a white tank top, black jeans, and a white medical mask. The second suspect is described as a Black man, standing about 5-foot-10 and weighing 180 pounds. He was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, black balaclava, and a black T-shirt tied around his head. The vehicle is described as a white 2020 BMW X1 with an unknown license plate.
ACPD is continuing to investigate both of these cases.
