Arlington Man Admits To Producing Explicit Video Of A Child Being Sexually Abused

ARLINGTON, VA — An Arlington man was sentenced Wednesday in federal court to 20 years in prison after admitting he had sexually exploited a prepubescent minor and recorded videos of the abuse, according to a U.S. Department of Justice release.

Abraham Razook, 43, admitted to authorities that he had produced a series of sexually explicit videos of a minor from June to August 2020. He also created a video longer than 6 minutes showing graphic sexual abuse of a child, according to court documents.

“The defendant engaged in devastating acts of sexual exploitation against a defenseless child and produced videos of her sexual abuse for his warped gratification,” said Raj Parekh, acting U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, in a release. “He escalated his conduct over the course of years, from viewing and amassing child sexual abuse material to becoming an abuser himself. For his crimes against children, the defendant will now serve a significant prison sentence where he can no longer prey on the most vulnerable members of our communities.”

With the aid of a court-ordered search warrant, authorities obtained and examined Razook's digital devices, where they uncovered a vast number of online videos and images that showed hundreds of child victims being sexually abused, according to court documents. Authorities say that Razook's unlawful conduct began as early as 2013. In addition, Razook used a peer-to-peer program for several months in 2020 to downloaded thousands of files containing images and videos of child abuse.

The investigation was brought to court as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide effort launched in 2006 by the Justice Department to stop the spread of child sexual abuse and exploitation.
