Crystal City Underground In Arlington To Close By October: Report
An affiliate of JBG Smith Properties is planning to close the Crystal City Underground by October, according to reports.

CRYSTAL CITY, VA — Crystal City Underground, an eclectic mix of retail and restaurants that's been around for nearly five decades, will soon close for good, according to news reports.
An affiliate of JBG Smith Properties plans to shutter the roughly 150,000 square foot facility, with more than two dozen tenants of the subterranean mall closing by the end of October, according to the Washington Business Journal.
“After careful consideration, we have made the difficult, yet necessary, decision to close the retail operation of the Crystal City Underground,” a JBG Smith spokesperson said in a statement quoted by WBJ. “As the retail landscape has shifted and as National Landing has continued to evolve, it has become apparent that the Underground retail concept is no longer financially sustainable. We are working with tenants as they relocate, offering flexibility during this period of transition.”
