Local non-profit, interfaith healthcare clinic, Culmore Clinic and Columbia Baptists Church @ Crossroads celebrate 5 years of partnership.
Named one of the best nonprofits by Catalogue for Philanthropy, Culmore Clinic is a 501c-3 healthcare clinic serving low-income adults in the Bailey’s Crossroads community at little to no cost. Supported by a diverse group of interfaith volunteers, healthcare providers, and donors, Culmore Clinic offers compassionate medical care, counseling services as well as specialty referrals. On Thursday, November 10th, they will be hosting an Open House & Breakfast open to the public (registration requested) to celebrate 5 years of partnership with their hosts, Columbia Baptist Church @ Crossroads.
Culmore Clinic is proud to address a critical need in our community through true interfaith partnerships. Culmore Clinic was started by two women from a Catholic Church who approached neighboring congregations about the staggering rate of uninsured adults in the area. What resulted was a health clinic that opened in a mosque, moved to a county facility and then with the help of Anglicans, moved to a Baptist church where it operates today with the support of sixteen congregations, two universities, a hospital system, the National Institute of Health and dozens of volunteers.
