Beginning Thursday, custom tableware artists Amber Kendrick and Ernie Niblack of Arlington-based Cloud Terre are excited to announce the launch of their Kickstarter campaign. Kendrick and Niblack created and launched the crowd funding-focused campaign with the hopes of attracting fans as they begin the next phase of creating their cutting-edge custom tableware.

Meeting their campaign goal of reaching $32,000 within a 40-day timeframe will help the Cloud Terre team achieve their need for purchasing new kilns, pottery wheels, higher capacity equipment, and enable them to explore the option of expanding their production facilities, as well as their future dreams of one day opening up their first retail space in the DC area, according to a news release from the company.

Throughout the next 40 days, Cloud Terre will hit the ground running hosting an official kick-off party in mid to late August, followed by a series of intimate and personalized micro events shining a spotlight on their one-of-a-kind custom work in collaboration with some of the DC areas most celebrated chefs and tastemakers. The campaign will wrap with a grand finale fete hosted at a high-profile restaurant in the DC area, with dates and details to be announced shortly.

Through the launch of our Kickstarter campaign, we invite everyone to join us in celebrating our uniquely designed, crafted, and produced tableware made right here by hand in America.”

Since its launch in Arlington in 2009, Cloud Terre has received critical acclaim for their work especially in collaboration with various high-profile restaurants and chefs including award-winning Tarver King at The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm, Fiola, Fiola Mare, Ashby Inn and Chef Johnny Spero, to highlight a few.
