Arlington Police Arrest DC Man In Series Of Robberies At Ballston Businesses

Arlington County Police charged a Washington, D.C. man in connection with a series of robberies at Ballston area businesses.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police filed multiple robbery charges against a Washington, D.C. man for a series of robberies in the Ballston area, according to the daily crime report.

Officers responded around 12:42 p.m. on Saturday for the report of a suspicious person with a knife at a store in the 700 block of N. Glebe Road. After searching the area, police located the suspect and took him into custody.

An investigation revealed that an employee saw a man trying to leave the store without paying for merchandise. When the employee confronted the man, he produced a knife, made threats at the employee and then left the store with the unpaid merchandise.

Police determined the man they had in custody was also involved with previous robberies at business in the area. They charged Jamia Gunner, 43, of Washington, D.C., with three counts each of robbery and petit larceny.
