DC Mansion Murders Lawyer Wins Marine Corps Marathon
Jeffrey Stein, who helped defend Daron Wint, was the top runner with a time of 2:22:49.

The winner of the annual Marine Corps Marathon that took place on Sunday in Arlington and D.C. was none other than Jeffrey Stein, one of the public defenders who worked on the notorious D.C. mansion murders case that ended in the conviction of his client, Daron Wint.
Stein was the top runner, finishing with a time of 2:22:49.
Stein helped defend Wint from charges that he kidnapped the Savopoulos family in a wealthy Northwest neighborhood in 2015, tortured them, killed them, and set their house on fire for ransom money.

Wint's team tried to claim that his brothers were actually responsible, but the jury didn't buy it and Wint was ultimately convicted of the crime. He awaits sentencing and could face the rest of his life in prison.
