A ranking of top colleges in the U.S., which is described as "fiscally minded," looks at schools that give you the best value for your buck. Four Virginia schools and two in Washington, D.C., cracked the top 100 on Forbes' "America's Top Colleges List" for 2017, while a total of 26 in the region were among the magazine's rankings of top schools in the Northeast and South. These Virginia, DC Universities Are Among The Best In The World

U.S. News & World Report ranked the best global universities, and it comes as no surprise that several of those schools are in Virginia and Washington, D.C. The University of Virginia placed highest in the region, in a tie for No. 107, while Virginia Tech is No. 250, George Washington University lands at No. 260 and Georgetown University is No. 29. U.S. News and World Report has crunched the numbers for 2017, releasing its annual list of best high schools in the country, ranking the schools on national and state levels.
