DC Woman Faces Child Abuse Charges In Arlington

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police apprehended a Washington, D.C., woman who fled the scene of a dispute under investigation at a Westmont area business, according to the daily crime report. The woman faces multiple charges, including four counts of felony child abuse and neglect.

ACPD officers were dispatched around 2:23 p.m. to a business in the 2500 block of Ninth Road S., for the report of a fight. They determined that a dispute had taken place inside the business between known individuals. One of the officers, who was on foot, tried to stop a vehicle in the parking lot, but the driver drove through a parking gate before fleeing the scene.

Police issued a lookout broadcast and officers located the vehicle at Arlington Boulevard and 10th Street N. They initiated a traffic stop and the suspects were apprehended without incident.

ACPD arrested Victoria Lawson, 26, of Washington, D.C., and charged her with felony eluding, felony destruction of property, assault and battery, four counts of felony child abuse and neglect and possession of marijuana.
