Dockless Bikes, Scooters Are Coming To Arlington: Report

ARLINGTON, VA -- Dockless bikes and scooters are coming to Arlington, as the county has decided to roll out a pilot program for them, according to a report.

WTOP reports that dockless scooter operator Bird started deploying its scooters weeks ago in the county without getting a formal agreement, and instead of attempting to block them, the county decided launch the pilot project to evaluate how well these programs could work in the county.

This would pave the way for formal agreements with dockless companies. Arlington County's transportation staff likely would bring the demonstration project to the County Board by September, according to the report.
