Drinking in Public: It's OK in Rosslyn at New Outdoor Bar
Every Friday evening before the free outdoor movies at Gateway Park, you can grab a beer or a glass of wine before settling in.

For the first time ever, the Rosslyn Business Improvement District is bringing an outdoor bar to Gateway Park this summer before the Friday night outdoor movies start, calling it "Pub in the Park."
Attendees will be able to get beer and wine at this "classy" outdoor bar starting at 5 p.m. on Fridays, and then settle in for a show at Rosslyn Cinema.
"We hope this will become a fun summer tradition in Rosslyn," BID Events Manager Sophie Barral said in the statement. "People can come to the park after work with their friends or colleagues to relax, have a drink and enjoy one of our neighborhood's favorite green spaces."

The mobile event bar is owned by Jon Hoffmeyer, who said he came up with the idea for the business with his wife because other festivals seemed to have poor setups of wine and beer tents, and since he has lots of experience in the hospitality industry, he decided he'd put it to good use, according to the statement.
The two-ton bar is made of aluminum, stainless steel and a PVC outer shell. Hoffmeyer brings it to Rosslyn every Friday on a trailer, and it takes a half hour to an hour to set up depending on the event.

If you come to the show hungry as well, you're in luck: the BID is inviting a different food truck each week to Rosslyn Cinema.
