Driver Rescued After GW Parkway Crash Near 14th Street Bridge

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County fire and EMS personnel extricated the driver of a vehicle that had run off the road and down the embankment on the George Washington Memorial Parkway Tuesday night, according to authorities.

The incident occurred in the southbound lanes of the parkway where it splits with I-395 just prior to the 14th Street Bridge, according to a 9:52 p.m. post on the department's X account.

After being remove from the vehicle by firefighters, the driver was taken to the Virginia Hospital Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, the social media post said.
