Drug Charge Levied After Robbery By Force At Ballston Store: Police
Arlington County Police arrested a Washington, D.C. man on Monday who they say robbed a Ballston store by force.
BALLSTON, VA — A 40-year-old man from Washington, D.C. is facing multiple charges, including the possession of narcotics, in connection to a robbery that happened midday on Monday in Ballston, according to Arlington County Police.
Officers were dispatched around 12:39 p.m. for the report of a robbery by force at a business in the 700 block of N. Glebe Road. A preliminary investigation determined that a man entered a store, concealed merchandise, and tried to leave without paying, according to police. When a loss prevention personnel tried to stop him, the man shoved them and left the store on foot.
A lookout was broadcast and policed searched the area. The officers who responded to the initial dispatch located the suspect, whom they identified as Maurice Travers, at a bus stop in the area of the 900 block of N. Stuart Street and took him into custody.

During the arrest, police searched Travers and discovered that he was possession of suspected narcotics. Police charged Travers with robbery and possession of Schedule I/II controlled substance.
