Elderly Woman Bites Police Officer's Hand After Traffic Stop in Arlington: Police

The woman had been pulled over on Route 110 for a suspended license, police said.

ARLINGTON, VA — A woman is in jail after a traffic stop for a suspended license on Route 110 turned into a violent encounter with a police officer, according to the Arlington County Police Department.

A police officer pulled over 66-year-old Jo Walton McClease of Fairmount Heights, Md. in the unit block of S. Route 110 at around 4:27 p.m. on Sept. 8, the police report states.

McClease was "non-compliant" when she was asked to get out of her vehicle, and then she bit the officer's hand, the report states.

McClease faces charges of assault on a police officer, obstruction and driving without a license, and is being held on a secured bond.
