Evidence of Rats, Roaches, Mice Found At 5 Arlington Restaurants
Arlington health inspectors reported finding signs of either rats, roaches or mice at five Arlington eateries they visited recently.
ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County health inspectors found violations at 22 of the 24 food establishments they visited Jan. 2-6, including infestations of rats, mice, or cockroaches at five restaurants they inspected.
During a Jan. 6 visit, an inspector reported finding mouse droppings in the upstairs storage room at the Best Buns Bread Company located at 4010 Campbell Ave. Mouse droppings were also reported at Nando's Peri-Peri Chicken at 4401 Wilson Blvd. #102 and Panda Bowl Chinese Restaurant at 3207 Columbia Pike.
An inspector reported finding a few dead American roaches in the basement of the Z Burger at 509 23rd St. South during a Jan. 5 inspection.

On the same day, an inspector visited Troy's Italian Kitchen at 2710-B Washington Blvd. Rat burrows and droppings were found in and on the ground outside the strip mall's shared trash and recycling dumpster containers, according to the inspection report.
Each of the food establishments where evidence of rat, mouse or roach infestations was detected received the following instructions:

"The premises shall be maintained free of insects, rodents, and other pests. The presence of insects, rodents, and other pests shall be controlled to eliminate their presence on the premises by: routinely inspecting incoming shipments of food and supplies; routinely inspecting the premises for evidence of pests; and/or, using methods, if pests are found, eliminating harborage conditions."
