Firefighters Rescue 3 Dogs From House Fire In Arlington

Arlington firefighters rescued three dogs from a home on fire in the Leeway Overlee neighborhood early Thursday, the fire department said.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and were able to save three dogs in the home, the Arlington County Fire Department said Thursday. No people were injured in the fire.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington firefighters rescued three dogs from a home on fire in the Leeway Overlee neighborhood early Thursday morning, the fire department said.

Units were dispatched to the home in the 2500 block of N. Kensington Street and found a fire in the kitchen. Firefighters were told that three dogs were inside.

“Crews quickly extinguished the fire and were able to locate and remove all 3 dogs,” the Arlington County Fire Department said in a tweet Thursday. “There were no civilian, pet, or firefighter injuries.”

The fire department said the residents were alerted to the fire by smoke alarms in the house.

Smoke filled the house after a fire in the dishwasher started before 1 a.m. Thursday, ARLnow reported.
