Firefighters Rescue Dog from Arlington Apartment Fire [PHOTOS]

Sadie was in one of the apartments on Lee Highway when a fire broke out, but she managed to escape uninjured.

ARLINGTON, VA — A scared pooch named Sadie was rescued by Arlington County firefighters Tuesday afternoon after a fire broke out on the balcony of an apartment on Lee Highway.

Firefighters responded to the 4300 block of Lee Highway to reports of smoke, and found that a balcony fire had spread to other apartments, the Arlington County Fire Department said on its Twitter page.

Firefighters soon had it extinguished and spent the rest of the afternoon on "smoke removal." No one was injured, and firefighters were able to rescue a dog named Sadie that was in one of the apartments. Fortunately, Sadie was unharmed, and firefighters posed for pictures as they kept her warm until her owners could be located.

"Remember never go back into a burning building to get a pet," they tweeted. "We will do our best to get your furry friends out safely."
