Fireplace Embers Spark Early Morning Fire In Westover
Arlington County Fire Department responded to an early morning fire on Saturday caused by fireplace embers igniting combustable materials.

ARLINGTON, VA: Units from the Arlington County Fire Department responded early Saturday morning to a one-alarm fire in the Westover neighborhood, according to posts on ACFD's official Twitter account.
Firefighters arrived on the scene on Jan. 4, at 1:30 a.m, in the 5900 block of Washington Blvd.
"Units on scene reported smoke coming from the household," said Capt. Justin Tirelli, ACFD public information officer. "When they were investigating, they found fire in the basement."

The fire was extinguished quickly, according to Tirelli. "I don't have an exact minute, but it was a quick knockdown from what I gather," he said.
No occupants or fire personnel were injured.

After an investigation, the cause of fire was determined to be fireplace embers falling on combustible material.
