Florida Man Charged With Possessing Firearm On School Grounds: Police

Arlington County Police officers arrested a Florida man Thursday morning on drug charges and possession of a firearm on school grounds.

James Drosihn, 53, of St. Augustine, Florida, was arrested and charged with drug possession, possession of a firearm on school grounds and a concealed weapon violation, Arlington Police said.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police arrested a Florida man Thursday morning on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm on school grounds.

At about 5:45 a.m. on Thursday, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious vehicle inside a parking garage adjacent to Washington-Liberty High School. The officers found a man asleep behind the wheel and saw alleged drug paraphernalia in plain view, police said.

During a search of the vehicle, a firearm, ammunition and controlled substances were found, police said.

James Drosihn, 53, of St. Augustine, Florida, was arrested and charged with possession of schedule I/II controlled substance, possession of schedule IV controlled substance, possession of a firearm on school grounds, possession of a firearm while possessing schedule I/II substance and a concealed weapon violation, according to police.

Drosihn was held in the Arlington County jail without bond, police said.
