Free COVID-19 Vaccinations Now Available For Children 12-17

ARLINGTON, VA — Thanks to an expansion of the Pfizer’s Emergency Use Authorization, Arlington residents ages 12-15 are now eligible to receive free COVID-19 vaccines starting Saturday at three locations around the county.

“This is a critical milestone in our pandemic response," Dr. Reuben Varghese, Arlington County Public Health Director, said in a release. "We encourage all parents to get their children vaccinated when they become eligible. The vaccine is the best form of protection against COVID-19. The more people protected, the better it is for ourselves and for our community.”

Over the next two weekends, the following clinics will be offering vaccinations for children 12-17 using the Pfizer vaccine. In order to receive a free vaccine, children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who must bring a valid ID when they accompany their child.

• Saturday, May 15 - Walter Reed Community Center, 2909 16th St. South, Arlington VA, 22204 Hours: 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
• Sunday, May 16 Walter Reed Community Center, 2909 16th St. South, Arlington VA, 22204 Hours: 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
• Monday, May 17 Wakefield High School, 1325 S Dinwiddie St., Arlington VA, 22204 Hours: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
• Saturday, May 22 Walter Reed Community Center, 2909 16th St. South, Arlington VA, 22204 Hours:9 a.m.-7 p.m.
• Sunday, May 23 Walter Reed Community Center, 2909 16th St. South, Arlington VA, 22204 Hours:9 a.m.-7 p.m.
• Monday, May 24 Kenmore Middle School, 200 S Carlin Springs Road, Arlington VA, 22204 Hours: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
