ARLINGTON, VA — MidnighTreats is celebrating the opening of its new cookie shop in Arlington's Ballston Quarter with free monster cookies on Saturday from 1 p.m. to midnight.

The first customer in line will receive one free monster cookie per week for a year and the next four customers will receive on free monster cookie per month for a year.

In addition, the shop will also give away a free chocolate chip monster cookie to each guest who visits the new Ballston Quarter shop while supplies last.

As a way to show their support for the greater Arlington community, MidnighTreats will be donating 10 percent of all its proceeds from Saturday's grand opening to the Animal Welfare League of Arlington.

The Ballston Quarter MidnighTreats shop is located at 4238 Wilson Blvd., suite 133 in Arlington. The regular hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 12 a.m., Monday through Sunday.

MidnighTreats was started as a home-based business in 2018 by Johnny Nguyen, who grew up in Vienna. The brand's cookies are plant based with no eggs or dairy. The company already has two locations in Northern Virginia, one in Reston and the other in Alexandria.

MidnighTreats will also be closing its Vienna location at Glyndon Plaza (167 Glyndon St. SE) on Saturday, the business told its followers in an email. A reason for the closing was not provided.
