Get Ready: 'Shamrock Crawl' Coming to Clarendon March 19

There'll be lots of St. Patrick's Day celebratin' in Arlington this year at the annual Shamrock Crawl.

ARLINGTON, VA -- The Shamrock Crawl -- and its presumably thousands of revelers -- is coming to Arlington’s Clarendon neighborhood on Saturday, March 19, from 1-9 p.m.

Organizers are selling “early bird” tickets for $15; tickets go up to $20 on March 1 and will be $30 at the door.

A ticket will get you a refillable signature Shamrock mug, party favors, access to some of Arlington’s bars, raffle entry for prizes and pictures of the event, according to organizers.

A permitting process was put into place after the 2014 event, which drew more than 5,000 people. In 2014, police said there were 25 arrests, 10 reports of public urination — including one on a police squad car with officers inside, The Washington Post reported.

A Reston woman was also arrested that year, after she showed up reportedly drunk and naked to the magistrate’s office to see her husband.
