NORTHERN VIRGINIA — The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is teaming up with Giant Food this fall to provide COVID-19 vaccines to airport employees at Reagan National Airport in Arlington and Dulles International Airport in Loudoun County.

All badged airport employees are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine through the airport’s vaccine clinics. Employees who qualify also may also receive their Pfizer-BioNTech booster.

“The Airports Authority encourages all airport employees to take advantage of this opportunity to get fully vaccinated,” Tony Vegliante, the Airport Authority’s senior vice president for human resources, said in a statement Friday.

Employees with a current airport badge at Dulles International or Reagan National should check with their manager for vaccine clinic dates.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority said it is not offering the vaccine to the general public. All passengers are encouraged to check with their airline prior to travel to understand vaccine requirements at their destination.

The Airports Authority currently does not require airport employees to be vaccinated.

"We are closely monitoring all federal and state mandates regarding vaccination against COVID-19," an Airports Authority spokeswoman said in an email. "All airport employees are required to follow the federal face covering mandate requiring face coverings to be worn inside airports at all times."
