Girl, 16, Thwarts Attack, Biting Suspect in Attempted Rape in Arlington
Police have suspect in custody.
The Arlington County Police Department has taken into custody and charged David Cabrera, 20, of Hyattsvile, Md. with the attempted rape of a 16-year old female victim. Cabrera was denied bond and is currently being held in the Arlington County Detention Facility.
On Saturday, the 16-year old female victim was at work in the Buckingham neighborhood of Arlington, when she initially observed the suspect watching her.
The victim left work around 11 pm and began to walk home when Cabrera grabbed her from behind, pulling her by her hair while covering her mouth with his hand in the 4200 block of 2nd Road N.

The suspect pulled his pants down and attempted to pull the victim’s pants down; however the victim was able to bite the suspect to affect her escape. The victim’s screams were heard by a nearby officer and neighbors.
Responding officers were able to locate the victim and after the description of the suspect was broadcast, the suspect was located a short distance away. He was taken into custody without further incident and the victim was able to identify Cabrera at the scene.
