Girl, 5, Survives Fall Out of Fifth-Story Window in Skyline Area

Police say the girl is hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Fairfax County Police report that a 5-year old girl fell out of a fifth-story window Tuesday night in the Skyline/Bailey’s Crossroads area of the county. She has been hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

Capt. Mike Fontana told NBC-4 that some shrubs and branches broke her fall.

Police say the incident took place Tuesday around 8:30 p.m. in the 5500 block of Seminary Road.

The girl reportedly leaned on a screen and fell out of the window, according to police. The child was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Initial indications are that this was an accident and not criminal in nature, police said. An investigation into the incident continues, according to police.
