Gunston Middle School Teacher Accused of Smoking Pot With 13-Year-Old

A teaching assistant at Gunston Middle School has been charged with taking a 13-year-old child to his residence and smoking marijuana together.
The Arlington County Police Department's Drug Enforcement Unit has arrested 32-year-old Zachary Van Dyke, a teaching assistant assigned to Gunston Middle School and a freshman basketball coach at Washington-Lee High School, on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and distribution of marijuana, according to a police statement.
Van Dyke is accused of transporting a 13-year-old juvenile victim -- gender not given -- to his residence on May 27, "where they smoked marijuana," the statement noted. Police say Van Dyke also sold marijuana to the teenager.

Police are now looking for possible additional victims in this case.
Van Dyke is being held on bond at the Arlington County Detention Facility.

In addition to the arrest, Van Dyke has been suspended by Arlington County Public Schools pending the outcome of the investigation.
