Health Code Violations Found At 14 Locations In Arlington

ARLINGTON, VA — Officials from Arlington County Public Health inspected food preparation and storage businesses in Arlington County on March 9-10.

Violations noted below involve issues that would typically require a re-inspection if not corrected, or those that are more likely than other violations to contribute to food contamination.

Violations were reported at four eateries at Reagan National Airport. At the Big Bowl restaurant, the inspector noticed an employee who failed to wash hands after working with raw chicken and donning gloves. At Smash Burger at National Airport, an employee failed to wash hands after working with raw hamburgers and donning gloves, according to the inspector.

At Pie-Tanza, the health inspector noted the walk-in freezer floor was in need of cleaning. The floors and walls of the kitchen area at Thai Curry also were noted as in need of cleaning.

"In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations," according to Virginia Department of Health's website.
