ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police will be conducting rolling road closures Saturday afternoon to allow women to participate in the Her Life 5K Walk and Yoga Event as it makes its way through Cherrydale and the surrounding area.
"We come together to stand in solidarity, one year since the murder of Breonna Taylor, to call attention to the racial injustice and violence committed against ALL Black and Brown women," the event's organizers said on their website. "Together we'll honor and celebrate the resilience of Black and Brown women during this collective healing event."
Check-in for the women's only event starts at 1:15 p.m., Saturday at Dorothy Hamm Middle School (4100 Vacation Lane, Arlington, VA 22207). The walk will begin at 2 p.m., followed by a yoga session at 3:30 p.m. Women wishing to participate in the entire event or just the walk or yoga session are encouraged to register online.
